Return of the O.G. Steez!

Its going to be a burner! You can expect about 20 miles through Orlando & Winter Park. If you ride regularly in the 407, you should be ok but if you're from out of town, bring a map or update that Garmin sucka! Winner rides off with a complete Subrosa Malum Fixed for their efforts.

Registration starts at 4pm @ Ace Metric and the first 40 people who register to race get a surprise courtesy of Mother Falcon. Subrosa/Kyle's Bike Shop are sponsoring a long jump contest (fixed only) which starts @ 4:30 behind Ace Metric. Race starts at 6pm and there's an after party / awards ceremony at Wills Pub. Don't be surprised if a game of cee-lo breaks out in the alley so get them singles ready...

We still need volunteers and anyone interested in helping out get a hold of Metha at methaskylab@gmail.com or leave a message on the Facebook Event Page. Anthony is also working on some Polo games the day after on the 4th of July. Peep this thread on FLFixed for more info.

See ya Saturday!

Miles under our belts.

Thanks to all the people who came out last night!!
A special thank you kevin and patrick two of the origional black cat riders who came out.
The route was the same as it always was, baldwin park, winter park, edgewater,to downtown,
a moderate speed and a few good sprints, making it a perfect mid length route, this ride has always proven to be amazing. At the end of the race we ran into out very own Preston at BbqBar and had some pretty good conversation over some beverage.
Everyones feedback was so positive and up bringing, that i said i'd make this post to gather knowledge if we should have another ride next tues.
So let me hear some feedback, leave comments!!

Black Cat Hustle!

There couldnt be a better time to have a BCH.
With the Up coming RR3 race whats better than putting some miles in.
The origional ride started @ stardust video roughly around 8pm on Tuesday nights, and ended at BBQbar Downtown for a few drinks and laughs. The route goes through baldwin park to lakemont around winter park,Fairbanks to edgewater, then pretty much to orange avenue toward downtown. The speed is very friendly,a few sprints are involved, but mostly its everybody look out for everybody and leave noone behind.
I think its perfect to keep the same meet and time.
it will be this upcoming tuesday the 22nd...dont forget to tell your friends!

LAPD joins critical mass

Interesting turn of events with the LA Critical Mass ride. A snippet from the LA Street Blogs article:
Traditionally, small groups of bike riders from around the city gather together on the fourth Friday of the month and head to the Wilshire/Western Red Line Station to gather for Los Angeles Critical Mass. This month, following what Streetsblog is calling the "Critical Mass Attack," a new group of riders will be joining the mass: the LAPD.

In a flyer being circulated to bike advocates and within the department, the LAPD has announced that it will be joining the June 25th Los Angeles Critical Mass to both show their support for the rights of cyclists to ride peacably in a large group, be the purpose party or protest; and to help weed out the riders responsibile for the vandalism and other mischief that's given Critical Mass a bad name.
Full story here.

Can something like that work here? I know a few people had met with OPD but I never heard back on what the results of those meetings were. Anyone care to fill us in?

Tip of the hat to Bulius for the heads up...

407fixed : Ronnie Teaser

407fixedgear : Ronnie Teaser from Antimo on Vimeo.

I've been shooting with Ronnie Govoruhk for the past week and it's been a blast. He has been in Orlando for a little while preparing to move back up to Philly, but he brought his bike so we've been filming a bunch.

Every time I hang with Ronnie really strange stuff happens. Freak shopping cart hobos getting girls gone wild, club horns on blast, and roof gaps. Oh yeah and mad slurpees!
