The Nutcracker II - Dec. 12th - St. Petersburg Fl

Last race of the year in St Pete and you know how they do! Get more info on FLFixed

A big thank you!

To everyone that came out on Saturday night and got to enjoy the two screenings. The vibe was thick and everyone seemed to have a blast. It was nice to see all the smiling faces out that night in spite of the cold weather (for Florida anyway). If you missed out on the Revival, make sure you catch it somewhere! This is a great project by Skitch and Morehart Films and not only did it showcase some top notch riding in great locales such as Vancouver, Seattle and NYC but it also presented it in a way that was both visually interesting and very inspiring. The cinematography and soundtrack alone are worth it IMO. Keep your eyes peeled for this DVD to drop as it will be one you will want in your collection...

Also a big shout out to Antimo for not only winning the coveted Mishka Spetsnaz jacket that night but for also producing a nice documentary short titled Bicycles Are Our Friends. The documentary addressed the difficulties bicycle commuters encounter in Orlando and featured a few local riders from the 407. Although it was his first draft of the project, it looked great and it captured some of the joy as well as the difficulties of commuting by bicycle in the city beautiful. He has plans to submit it for BFF next year as well as Florida Film Festival so keep a look out for the final draft...

Keep pedaling through those corners!

Obeying traffic laws puts you at greater risk?

Came across this UK Times article on John Prollys twitter stream:
Women cyclists are far more likely to be killed by a lorry because, unlike men, they tend to obey red lights and wait at junctions in the driver’s blind spot, according to a study.

The report by Transport for London’s road safety unit was completed last July but has been kept secret. It suggests that some cyclists who break the law by jumping red lights may be safer and that cycle feeder lanes may make the problem worse. The Times has obtained a copy of the study, which says that 86 per cent of the women cyclists killed in London between 1999 and 2004 collided with a lorry. By contrast, lorries were involved in 47 per cent of deaths of male cyclists.

The findings help to explain why the growing popularity of cycling by city commuters is resulting in frequent deaths of young women in similar circumstances. The death rate among women cyclists has increased since the report was completed, with two killed in collisions with lorries within 24 hours last month.

New Shadow Conspiracy Gloves

I'm so loving these gloves! They fit really nice and what I like best is that there's no velcro strap like the old pair of shadow gloves I had. They were a little tight when I first put them on but after riding with them, they stretched out pretty well. Come in a wide variety of colors but I went with the black on black. Scoop'em up at a shop near you!
