One night in Altamonte Springs...

Last night I met up with Jihad and GL for a little tour of the Altamonte Springs / Longwood area. I've never really ridden in that area much (except for hitting Soldiers Creek when I used to free ride) and Jihad had been telling me about some of the spots they hit up there. So yesterday after work I packed up the bike in the car and finally took the trip up there...

Meet up spot was over at Shadow HQ. Here's a few pictures of the Malum Fixed GL is riding:

We then rolled over to Jihads, GL made a few adjustments to the bike and we began to ride through the hood in route to the legendary Pic & Save spot. This is a well known spot in the 407 BMX/skateboard scene and since I had never ridden it before, a good place to start. One of the things I noticed right off as we rode there was that there are actual hills out in Altamonte. Since the Downtown area is so damn flat, it was a really nice change of pace. Keep in mind they are not San Fran category hills but for Florida, it was proper. They get pretty steep in some places and at one point later in the night (after sunset), it felt like space mountain because we were hauling ass on pitch black streets...

All in all I had an awesome time riding up there! Thnx to Jihad and GL for taking the time show me around their turf. I want to do a few more rides and get a good route down for a new video project I would like to shoot. I'm thinking another fast ride video which should be a banger after bombing a few of those hills last night!

ez!
