so in case any of you dudes wonder why the bike scene downtown is so male dominated, i'll chime in that fliers like this don't help.
I agree in principle but I also dont pass judment on organizers because of the imagery they use to promote their events. If I refused to participate in events which used questionable material for promotion value, I would be attending very few events...
I post what is sent over because the aim here is to inform, not pass judgment on peoples intentions / taste in imagery. If this kind of stuff really irks you to the point you don't attend because of the perceived message you feel it sends, I suggest you direct your feedback to the organizers of said events. Not trying to be a jerk, just pointing out the obvious...
Big ups to the women who did show up yesterday. It was good to see you all out there racing regardless of the insane heat. Mad respect to everyone who participated because yesterdays sprints where probably the most brutal of the series thus far...

i'm not sad that i opted to dive for scallops instead of race in 100 degree heat...
...and i disagree with the first comment. i actually really, really like this flyer and don't think that the supposed low female attendance in the "scene" is attributable to it. there are tons of chicks riding, and it's only growing.

i dont think it has even a teensy bit to do with stuff like the flyer. i think a lot of people are just intimidated and they should know there's no reason to be. if you show up you'll realize it's all in good fun.
ps. four people puked from this past sprints. yeah. bruuutal!
