whenever i see that frame i want to puke. i think i just did in my mouth. ha but that was a bad ass edit besides the whole frame thing
I kind of actually always wondered where the cages for trick riding ever came into play anyway. I understand them fully when you're using your bike as an actual road bike, but when doing tricks......they really aren't necessary or helpful. Lots of BMX street riders ride on fixed gear hubs and whens the last time you saw a BMX bike with toe retention?

I can only speak from my preferences but some tricks that are fixed gear specific (like keo spins for instance) tend to be easier for me when I'm in my cages. Not to mention basic maneuvers like stopping / skidding are a whole heck of a lot easier with foot retention. This is not to say that everyone needs to have toe cages but I tend to prefer them overall..
Coming from a BMX / freeride background, getting used to putting my foot in those things (cages) was difficult when I started riding fixed. I honestly refused to use them at first, then slowly I moved on to power straps. It was about a year ago that I finally went over to the Soma toe cages. Now, I can't think of riding with out them...
ez!
