Fun with Polarize...

You guys know I love to push media creation with my iPhone and a cool little free app a friend of mine clued me in to has been getting heavy use recently. The name of the app is Polarize and it essentially turns your iPhone camera in to a Polaroid camera. It does all sorts of neat things with color and you can tag it with up to 14 characters. While it doesn't give you the capability to modify the colors / Polaroid effect, some of the results I have gotten have been pretty cool. Here's an example of a new spot I was scouting out yesterday for a future shoot. The old school skaters / BMX crew will recognize this place no doubt... :)

just scouting it gus? don't you teach in that building?

regardless, it was better when that dumpster wasn't there in my opinion.

Yes and no Steve. The bank itself is next to the Film Dept while the web hub (where I teach) is considered it's own locale out by Crispers. They are both technically in the same building but if you look at the map, one is 4A and the other is 4B...

But yeah, I was scouting that day. I rode out there by myself on Sunday and rode it for a bit. I also took a few shoots with my camera to simulate camera angles and get an idea of any lighting issues. I agree, that dumpster gets in the way at times and I really thought it was lame when they put it in front of the bank itself for a while; effectively stopping anyone from riding it. At least now it's ridable and the dumpster can be incorporated in to some tricks...
