A lot has been said about H+Son rims on the interweb, both good and bad. While some of the negative comments could be dismissed as plain ol' hater speak, valid concerns have been raised about the claims of durability regarding these rims. Ran across this story on Prollys blog and I had to share as many of us are considering getting these rims. Please keep in mind before you accuse me of "hatercide" that I'm not slamming on H+Son but rather passing on information that could be vital regarding this product. I've personally have never seen anything like this happen and for all we know, this is just an isolated incident. But in light of what happened, I feel it should be posted as it does warrant further scrutiny...

Props to Prolly for putting this info out there in an objective manner...

Did you read how it happened? Supposedly it was just a skid.

I expressed a lot of concern about the strength of these rims prior to them even shipping into the U.S. and while I hope this is an isolated incident I image that we could see more issues like this in the future as the aesthetic appeal of the wheel has won over a number of fans in the fixed gear scene.

I still stand by my original judgement of the rim. It looks cool as hell but is functionally inferior the Velocity Deep V.

Zach over at zlog blog posted his thoughts on this. I personally think he makes a good point regarding hson options...

Zach makes a good point. I asked Tzusing for objective test data for his G609 alloy vs. 6061 for reference and he never came back with a direct response to that query.

I'm not the end all be all expert on rims and I'm not trying to sabotage a cool product but I know enough to question something when the math just doesn't add up, figuratively speaking.
