With all the gloom and doom being forecast in our financial sectors I find it rather odd some businesses continue to marginalize a certain segment of the cycling community here in Orlando. Granted, we may not spend the big money some of your targeted clientèle may drop at your shop but keep in mind that when the economy heads south big ticket items are the first to feel the hit...
In other words, don't marginalize me with sub par customer service because I don't ride a $5K bike. This does nothing to encourage further commercial interactions between your shop and my wallet...
Respect to the local bike shops that do keep it real...

"marginalize" ...word of the week?
...actually, and i might be wrong here, but when (or if) our economy takes a hit, it'll be us that gets hit the hardest, while the big monies won't even notice.
Perhaps. The thing is everyone feels it in one way or another...
for instance Richie Rich may not go hungry, but due to other factors caused by the slowdown in the economy, he may not be able to spend as much as he did a year ago on his hobby. So that 09 Cervelo he was jocking may not be economically viable for him to get at the moment. Said bike shop now feels the pinch because said high ticket item doesn't move...
Either way, it doesn't excuse the weak ass customer service I experienced this afternoon...
and yes, marginalize is the word of the week! :)
if you're talking about the shop i assume you are (although talking cervelo might indicate a different shop) - i totally back you on it - i tend to have a heathy disTASTE for said bourgey "cycling" "community" here, so the shop that caters to their needs and gives us their same old classist, elitist attitude gets no moneyz from me.
ryan!
I used Cervelo because that was the only high end brand that came to mind when I was posting my reply. After I posted it I realized this may make people think about another local shop which is not the case. I don't want to identify the shop on here because as the old adage goes, any kind of publicity is good publicity...
Hit me up next time you see me and I'll give you the skinny on what went down....
okay then - i think i know who you mean
