Going back to Cali. Naw, I don't think so...
Sorry for the lack of activity, been in L.A. for the past 5 days and just got back. Jet lag worked me when I first got there and just when I finally got used to the time difference, I flew back on a red eye. So yeah, my brain is a bit fried right now as it feels like it's noon to me at the moment...
So to get things back on track while my body readjusts to the humidity and my brain to the time difference, here's a few vids to get you going...
Sprint Night from Panda Face on Vimeo.
Would love to get something like this going here. Anthony and the Pista crew where doing something similar at Howard but I dunno if they still meet up for sprints. Holla and let us know in the comments...
FRESH MELT WATER ED.WONKA. from Edward LAforte on Vimeo.
This one is for my boy Anonymous who loves all the fixed gear BMX tricks videos scored to hip hop... :)
Ups and Downs Alleycat Tucson, AZ from Thomas Brown on Vimeo.
Night time alley cat bizness....
And just to keep things local, here's the Orlando Sentinels very own Chain Gang (damn they look gangsta in that picture) blogging about the Seattle Critical Mass fiasco and the NY Cop / CM ruckus. For those of you reading from other parts of the state, the Sentinel is the newly dumbed down daily newspaper that passes off as journalism in this town. From what I hear it didn't always used to be like that but Sam Zell feels the readers of the rag prefer stories about puppy dogs as opposed to those with actual substance to them. Anyways, make sure you take the time to read the obligatory "it's all the CM /fixed gear riders fault" comments as they are as mind numbing as you would expect. Because we all know motorists follow the letter of the law every time they get behind the wheel of their car and it's really just us who are the scofflaws in this town. Just ask Jeremy...
ez!

one of the things I love about CM is how supportive people seem. Think of all the drivers and people on the sidewalks you see smiling as we ride by. Overall, I think we have it pretty good. I wish people on those message boards would come see what it's like rather than just making incorrect assumptions.
good post cole...
its pretty crappy the things people can make up and say when they have idiots to "read, heed, and follow"
pretty much make people who are actually trying to make a diffrents actually a bunch of vigilantes who come out of dumpsters at night.
tisk.
maybe we should all start rocking u.s. mail touring get ups when we ride.
and about the srints IM ALL ABOUT IT
its pretty much would ive been looking to do for the last 2 months or so.
"bike street racing" haha
i actually had a conversation with ryanfromdeland aboutthe exact thing about a week ago...hopfully we can get something together very very soon.. maybe on like robinson along side lake eola or somewhere.
Good points guys. One of the things that pisses me off about the blanket statements evident in the comments is how all of the blame is shifted to the participants of CM and motorists are framed as victims of harassment by the mass. How many times have we been menaced by motorists pissed because they got caught behind the mass? Fuck'em as it goes both ways...
Not to mention all this whiny ass harping about cyclists not following the traffic laws. Especially when you take in to account how bad motorists flaunt the laws around here. Did they bother to take in to account how bad everyone speeds around here? Or how many rolling stops motorists pull around here? Or the way some motorists drive all up in bike lanes on roads such as Lakemont or Glenridge? Or all the other number of traffic infractions many motorists consistently flaunt as they drive around the city. If they demand we follow the letter of the law when we ride, then we demand they follow the letter of the law when they drive. Until that happens, I'll continue to be a "scofflaw"...
ez!
People say that CM in general is bad for cyclists because we piss drivers off and we shouldn't project that.
I ride in CM because its fun period. I think that's why we have huge turnouts.
totally appreciate the fixed/bmx video.
dude's got skills...
now if he only had a set of NJS pegs.
