has the fixed gear apocalypse arrived?

according to a few peeps I know it has and this is the 7th sign... Thoughts? I personally think it's a pretty nice bike albeit it's not for me. Oh and in case you don't get the BSNYC reference, here it is...

Also, I grabbed this off Tracko:

I like the idea, someone should organize something along these lines here. Click on the image or here to see some pictures from the race...

On a much lighter non bike related note, wtf is happening on the Jerry Springer show? I've been working from the home the past week and I had Jerry Springer on the tele while I was working this morning. If you can believe it, it's become even more of a fukin circus than it was before; complete with jugglers spinning plates and other objects while guests throw down over the soap opera shenanigans that make up their lives. There is even a guy with no body from the waist down that just walks on stage every so often just to freak people out (I'm not making this up). The scene is pretty damn surreal with elements of Vaudeville thrown in just for good measure. It was good for about 30 minutes before I fired up iTunes... :)

I haven't watched Jerry lately, but did you see that his body guard got his own show?

The more people riding bikes the better, I sure hope our beloved meme catches the attention of the general public. How cool would it be to see University Blvd. packed with commuters on bikes on a daily basis? Quite cool.

I haven't seen Jerry springer in years! It used to be sweet back in high school, but then the same stories kept popping up, "I cheated on you with your dad/mom/dog," and I lost interest. I guess they also noticed this and decided to step it up a notch. Good for them, I suppose.

chill, bro. This isn't the apocaplypse, justthe bound-to-be short lived trendiness of fixed gear bikes. Seems bad, but think of it this way. A lot of people who ride hust because it's cool will leave us alone soon. Those who actually like riding that would not have otherwise discovered fixed gears will stay. It's a blessing and a curse. Give it time, it's for the better.

the "fixed gear apocalypse" thing is a reference to a BSNYC post, not me being melodramatic...
